His diagnosis for cancer of the esophagus was made soon after NAB last year and despite fast treatment and being given the all clear the cancer returned earlier this year.
Both Tom Gittins and Nigel Booth visited him last Sunday the 04th March and although very weak his mind was still busy and they managed to make him smile a few times.
He hung on until the morning of Tuesday 06th March when Lisa and his children could be with him and then slipped away.
NAB, IBCs and other industry events will certainly not be the same without him and I’m sure many of you will have fond memories to look back on.
Plans for his funeral are in hand together with a wake but it’s likely not to be for 2 weeks or so.
As I hear from Lisa I will pass on more news.
